When you arrive at an event at a bar and you begin to realize that you have showed up on the wrong day, what course of action should you take?
Options Available to the Calendar Challenged:
1. Go up to everyone who walks through the door and ask, "Are you with the So and So Organization?"
2. Look lonely.
3. Bug the bartender..."Are you sure no one scheduled the So and So event for tonight?"
4. Wonder 5000 times if you have the wrong day. As the minutes tick by, answer this question with a mumbled, "Of course you have the wrong day. No one is HERE except for you. But maybe you should wait a few more minutes, just in case?"
5. Leave before the bartender staff can identify you as the idiot who showed up for an event that wasn't going on until next week.
6. Text message your significant other until they feel so bad they come and join you for one pathetic drink before they take you home, defeated.
Which option would you choose? On November 12th, I completed a heady mix of all the above actions, except number five, which is the only choice that would NOT have involved public humiliation.
