This is from a girl who smiles at me all the time, follows me around like a shadow, and suspiciously acts like I entertain her.
I've come to a conclusion. Ten-year-olds, and other children of the approximate size of ten-year-olds, don't think any adult is very funny. They also believe we are all bumbling clowns with only one purpose in life, to embarrass them.
This makes me wonder if Barrack Obama's children give him any respect. He has just won the most powerful job in this country. Giant crowds of strangers hugged and celebrated on the night of his victory. For a huge population of America, President-elect Obama is the epitome of cool.
Still, I can't help thinking that when he goes out for a press conference, his ten-year-old says something like, "Dad, just don't make me look stupid in front of my friends, okay?"
